Duality- Occult Philosophy

Up and down, left and right, black and white, good and evil. Duality is defined as an instance of opposition or contrast between two concepts or two aspects of one whole.

We witness the signs of the dualism philosophy throughout all forms of media, a lot of which I try to expose on my YouTube channel; But what does the idea of duality actually mean to occult practitioners?

To answer this question, we first must understand that they believe in the equality of these opposites, not only balancing them out but they believe that the existence of a positive depends on the existence of a negative. A good way to show this in a logical way would be Newtons Third Law of Motion (F=-F) every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Ironically Newton was inspired from "The Hermetica", which are Egyptian-Greek texts that formed the basis of Hermeticism.

However a large part of the New Age and many other occult practices revolve around the transcendence of duality, and becoming ONE or totality. This would be achieved through the complete and equal balance of the duality that exist to come to a point in recognition of the higher self (or becoming one with all, the source, God, ect.). A single experience of this occurrence is called an ego death, which can be facilitated from psychedelic drugs or occult mystical practice. So the goal of the New Age and the occult practices are essentially to reach the apotheosis of man. A very similar promise to a certain serpent in the Bible, but more on that later.

Aleister Crowley, among many other occultist, taught this concept through the Hermetic concept of Magnum Opus, or the Great Work. This concept goes beyond the simple balancing of opposites to obtain non-duality, and into the union of opposites to achieve synthesis. So for instance this would be the combining of equal amounts black and white paint and mixing together to form a solid grey. The Baphomet would be the perfect occult example of this amalgamation of opposites. This is how Aleister Crowley describes the Great Work in his book "Magick Without Tears".

"The Great Work is the uniting of opposites. It may mean the uniting of the soul with God, of the microcosm with the macrocosm, of the female with the male, of the ego with the non-ego."

So a traditional Christian would obviously see the flaws with this logic and understand how these philosophies would be satanic in nature, but the Non-Christian and or New Age initiate may be thinking that even the bible shows signs of duality. Especially when you consider the fact that Gnosticism, what some believe to be a form of mystical Christianity, is riddled with themes of duality. To first debunk this we have to understand the Gnosticism is in no way Christianity, it is a mystical occult understanding of the bible. It also uses many gospels that contradict the canon verses that most Christians consider to be the inspired and authored word of God. I believe it better to explain Gnosticism in full detail in another article but I will briefly summarize it here. Gnostics believe that there are many gods and goddesses, the lowest of which is named Sophia (meaning wisdom or knowledge). Sophia created a smaller god, who they call the Demiurge, which to them is the god of the old testament. They believe the Demiurge created man kind and had us enslaved but the twist is that they place Lucifer or the serpent as the savior of mankind giving us knowledge so that we could be like gods. The next twist is that they believe the Demiurge is composed of BOTH LUCIFER AND YAHWEH (they call Yahweh "adonai"). So the Gnostic view is that the Lord is actually Satan or the darkness bringer, and Lucifer is actually the God of light. Lucifer being the good portion of god who wants to destroy the paradigm in which we exist and allow us to go to the higher states of consciousness and evolution, thus transcending duality. So they believe the God of the Bible to be dualistic in nature, with it's good and evil sides both being equally powerful, and this is why the serpent gave us the knowledge of duality (good and evil).

This brings us to the Free Masons, which essentially teach the Gnostic viewpoint at it's higher levels. Once again this is a larger topic that I want to cover deeper in the future; But merely to

demonstrate that they also follow Gnostic Luciferian teachings I will display some of the writings from 19th century 33rd degree Free Mason Albert Pike. He wrote books such as "Morals and Dogma", "Books of the Words", and "Reprints of Old Rituals". His writings are often found in Masonic Lodges, and those advancing through the degrees are encouraged to read his work.

"Morals and Dogma" pg. 321

"Lucifer, the Light-bearer !  Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of darkness!  Lucifer, the Son of the Morning!   It is he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, sensual or selfish souls?   Doubt it not!"

General Albert Pike Cited from ‘The question of freemasonry'

“That which we must say to the crowd is, we worship a god, but it is the god one adores without superstition. To you sovereign grand inspector general, we say this and you may repeat it to the brethren of the 32nd, 31st and 30th degrees - the Masonic religion should be by all of us initiates of the high degrees, maintained in the purity of the luciferian doctrine.

If lucifer were not god, would Adonay (the God of the Christians) whose deeds prove cruelty, perfidy and hatred of man, barbarism and repulsion for science, would Adonay and His priests, calumniate Him?

Yes, lucifer is god, and unfortunately Adonay is also God, for the eternal law is that there is no light without shade, no beauty without ugliness, no white without black, for the absolute can only exist as two gods. darkness being necessary for light to serve as its foil, as the pedestal is necessary to the statue, and the brake to the locomotive.

Thus, the doctrine of Satanism is heresy, and the true and pure philosophical religion is the belief in Lucifer, the equal of Adonay, but Lucifer, god of light and god of good, is struggling for humanity against Adonay, the god of darkness and evil”

So now that you know what Gnostics and Freemasons (at the high level) believe, we can now easily disprove these concepts with scriptures from the bible. Remember this is why Gnosticism is not a from of Christianity and you cannot be a Gnostic Christian or a Freemason Christian. Christians believe that there is ONE God, who sent Jesus Christ who was also God ("Emmanuel"= God with us) to die and atone for the sins of humanity. So we will first prove that light and dark are not equal, as it states very plainly.

Ecclesiastes 2:13 ESV

" Then I saw that there is more gain in wisdom than in folly, as there is more gain in light than in darkness."

Next we will show the scriptures that tell us very clearly that Jesus is the way and that God is not dualistic at all.

1 John 1:5

"This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."

John 8:12

"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Finally we will learn how the Bible fully warns that there is a false light, and that if the light has darkness then it is in fact the false light. Also we will see that the serpent is in fact the enemy regarded to as Satan or the fallen angel Lucifer.

Luke 11:34 and 35

"Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore BE CAREFUL LEST THE LIGHT IN YOU BE DARKNESS."

Revelation 20:2

"And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years"

So I believe this article should give you a pretty good understanding of what duality is to the occult, and how it influences both the Freemasons and the New Age movement. This also should clarify that the biblical God who came and died for our sins is only one of pure, righteous, and holy light, he is not dualistic in nature. The Gnostic view of god is what exactly the enemy wants us to think, that the Lord is evil and Lucifer the serpent is good, but both must co-exist and there cannot be one without the other. THIS IS THE CONCEPT OF DUALITY IN A NUT SHELL GOOD AND EVIL ARE ONE AND CO-DEPENDENT TO EXIST. DUALITY IS ALSO THE LIE OF THE SERPENT! I hope this brought some clarity to some searching souls out there! I want to end with a final scripture which once again exposes those claiming to have hidden knowledge. Love you all and thank you for reading.

1 Timothy 6:20

"O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,”
